Back in Brisbane

27th April
We decided to have a picnic at about 12 but when we adventually got around to it the time was 5.30 and the sun was going down!!!
Crackers, cheese and vegemite with melted ice cream and yet more anzac cookies.
Played 'up ball' in the botanical gardens.
Saw a possom!

Airlie Beach

26th April

Chilled out at lagoon all morning.

Got plane to Brisbane(pm)Sinead couldnt be bothered to go to toilet to change from her shorts to jeans so got changed in her seat!! very entertaining moment for me and the guy sat next to me.

Got train to the Buckleys and had a curry waiting- much needed as we were starvin marvin.

27th April

Refresh day - catching up on sleep from past few days, having good food (anzac cookies) and washing all our smelly clothes.

Whitsundays 2

24th April

Headed back to boat with lunch waiting for us (such a good feeling!)Then we sailed on to our first snorkelling spot. We saw some amazing coloured coral and fish, though I was slightly disappointed as the water was no way as clear as Thailand. Though it was still a really good snorkelling session!!

Chilled out for spag bol dinner and some bonding time, then again fell asleep slightly better due to the goon under the stars.

25th April

Went for a cheeky snorkel before we had to sail back to Airlie Beach. Though we smelt a bit as there wasnt a shower on the boat so had to make do with baby wipes!

Now back at Airlie Beach had the best shower ever!!! Free dinner at our drinks good bye tonight xxxx

Whitsundays

23rd April

Met our group all 23 of us on the Tongorra (red boat)and straight away topped up the tan on the deck!
Chilled out meeting new people, though we still had our welshys with us!
Got a yummy bbq cooked for us (most ppl had fish) but I was lucky as there was chicken. We slept up on deck underneath the stars- really pretty though I didnt get much sleep as we were rocking from side to side and it started to becoming really annoying like a dripping tap!!

24th April

Got woken up for breakfast, then sailed to the Beach (Sinead saw a turtle, though I missed it, gutted!)We walked up to the view point which was amazing but on the way back down we went passed a huge spider!!!!
not good though I just about managed to get a picture after a few squeals. After all that excitement we chilled out on the beach, again reallly white sand and crystal clear water.Though every time we went in the water we had to where a stinger suit just in case which were hot!!

Airlie Beach

22nd April Sinead bought a didgeridoo for her dad and we got a free lesson wish the Welshy's (our mates from fraser island). Laura (welshy 1)and I (oxford 1) were rubbish as we were laughing too much but Sinead (oxford2 and sam (welshy 2) could actually play it. We have spent the last few days sunbathing and swimming in the lagoon as think its stinger season still.

Hervey Bay

19th april

Just got interviewed about the 2 people that got killed on fraser Island, on news at 6pm in Australia.

Fraser Island

15th April

• Arrived at Hervey bay, had a group meeting. In our group there were 3 german boys 1 german girl, 2irish girls and 1 irish boy and us. There were also 2 other jeeps with 9ppl.
  

16th April

• Got up early and bought the groups food and packed our bright pink jeep.
• Got ferry to Fraser island ( worlds largest sand dune island)
• Went on a walk to a beautiful lake with crystal clear water. though was quite scary as on the walk we had to dodge all the spiders.
• We then drove to our next location and went on a really long walk to Lake Wabby which had a huge sand dune going into the water.

17th April

• Got up early and drove across the beach to Maheno shipwreck, then to Eli Creek and Indian head.

• Walked across beach to the Champagne pools which were quite busy but we found our own private beach.
  

• As the champagne pools were salt water we needed a shower so our group and the other group, drove into a camp site and all 18 of us legged it into the private camp site showers. though we didnt have a 1 dollar coin so had to wash our hair and body in the sink (funny times, good stuff and clean!!!)

• Got up early to go to Lake Makenzie - absolute heaven!!!! Pictures say all.

Easter Sunday

April 12th

• Went for a drive to have coffee at the Buckleys family friends and went passed Amelia Street.




• Saw rainbow parrots in the tree next to the house.

Reunion of Sinead and I

April 11th

• Met up with Sinead in the morning from her long bus journey from Sydney.
• Went shopping with Shathani

Fingal Beech

10th April (good friday)

• We went on a day trip to Fingal Beechand swam in the sea.


• Then went to their family friends house and swam in their swimming pool.
  
• Had the best toasted sandwich I have ever tasted sundried tomato, feta cheese, pesto and olive on gourmet Turkish bread yummmmm.
  
• We then went on a stroll to the lighthouse and I saw cook island (named by cook in 1770!)


• We had tea at the friends house and listened to some African style music.

Brisbane City

April 9th

• We walked to south bank to see the artificial beach and parkland. We also saw the mini Brisbane eye!




• We took the city ferry to the centre and had a Hot chocolate and scones!
