23rd may
we dropped off a few people in Picton but no one got on the bus as no ferries were running due to the bad weather. Then we drove to Nelson and stopped off at a beach where there was a seal colony. it was really difficult to get a good picture as my hair was flying everywhere! Our next stop was a vineyard and we got to taste a few wines. As sinead downed it I learnt how to taste it properly. Oddly enough i preferred the red wine to the white! We also tried some local olive oil and vinagerette.
Our next stop was at Westport (centre of newzealand) We walked up to the point. the hostel was putting on a really cheap roast and we couldnt resist when they mentioned yorkshire puddings!
24th May
we stopped at Lake maninapua and had a short walk (yes another one) around it. It was absolutely freezing so whilst I had loads of clothes on a few crazy kids including sinead jumped in the lake. Judging by sineads face it was slightly cold!! We then had our picnic being chased by crazy ducks.
25th May
Swapping my uggs for my walking boots we did a coastal walk, for the first time ibn nz i was actually hot and wore a strappy top! We also got a hokey pokey icecream which is meant to be the only place in the world to sell it but i put them straight!
pur next stop was at pancake rocks where the limestone rocks have been eroded by the sea. our theme for the nights party was 'on the box'. Me being a cheap skate only bought a builders hat and borrowed al the boys clothes, whuilst others went all out. We stayed in the Poo hostel which was a few mins from the beach. So we had a good game of beach rugby. i also tried to look for more of the pearl shells which I stupidly left at the last hostel, but i failed. So instead we got some traditional jumping pics as the sun went down. As you all like to know what we had for dinner, it was another good meal cooked for us with siome of the best steak i have ever tasted and bambi stew. the meal was followed by a very memorable or not so memeroable evening where everyone was dressed up. Sinead and James dressed up from th 'call on me' music video. a few of the best were grannies off the shreddies advert, pampers babies, 118 118 and the 2 guys off broke back mountain.

On our way to Franz Josef Glacier we stopped off ata really strange cafe which also had a museum. We watched a film called ' how bambi became a terrosist' it basically showed how the kiwis controlled the deer population and showed a guy jumping out of a helicopter onto the deer and wrestling them to the ground. we also watched a possum being skinned which was disgusting!!
We finally got to Franz Josef and the sky was perfect for our sky dive (no clouds at all!!) i was a little nervous at first but when we actually got into the plane all the nerves went and excitement set in. the views were spectacular of the beach, snowy mount cook and green fields. i jumped first, I thought i was going to scream loads but actually I was peachless as it was so amazing! we were really lucky as we were allowed to take our Cameras so i got a video but my cheeks look really really chubby!! Skydiving by far was probably the best thing we have done so far!
27th May
We have just got back from our full day trek in the Franz Josef Glacier which was the best walk I have ever done! We had to squeeze through tiny crevices and holes which i must admit got my heart pumping when I couldnt climb up as my legs were too short but i was lucky i had one of the boys behind me and they pushed me up. Apart from the claustrophobia (not sure of spelling) it was fab!
Just about to chill out in the outsdie hot tub.
Olive oil, vinaigrette, red&white wine, yorkshire pudding, bambi stew and HOKEY POKEY... !!! I see you are having the time of your life !
